Uncomfortable sound in right ear. Why?

Since a few weeks I have been experiencing a very uncomfortable condition, a buzzing/crumpling sound in my right ear. It gets very prominent in some postures while it stops completely if I lay down with my right ear facing downwards. The sound seems to match my heartbeat too. This happens for a few days and then stops and then starts again and has started getting very very annoying and disturbing as time goes by. Please recommend a way to get rid of this so that I can at least sleep in peace. Thank you.

There are many possible causes of pulsatile tinnitus (a noise in your ear that is synced with the rhythm of your heart) but they are all due to circulation issues. This could be anything from high blood pressure to iron deficiency anaemia to hyperthyroidism.
