Using birth control to delay a period!

So, I want to delay my period for April because I am going on vacation. I just started taking my birth control again this month. I was off of it for two months. To delay it, during the week in April I should get my period I skip the placebo pills and start taking a new pack of pills correct? Is this method very effective? I have heard it was, but I just want to hear of peoples personal experiences. I am scheduled to get my period the week of March 31st. So, I just start a new pack of pills immediately and throw away the placebo pills correct? Therefore, my period will just come at the end of the month instead of the beginning. Any suggestions would be great. Thanx.

Hello there,

Just finished reading your comments. If you were off your bc pills for
two months, my advise is to make an appointment with the doctor
who prescribed your bc pills. I would want to know for sure exactly
what  to do and get the advise from a professional doctor. I wish you
well.  Eve

I used to skip periods all the time on birthcontrol. All you need to do is continue to take the active pills and skip the placebo pills, It really did work for me. Your period will just come after the 2nd pack is done, It may be a bit heavier but you should be fine. Good luck!
