What is the yellow aerosol spray that used to be used before wrapping a sprain?

Sometime between the 1960s and the 1980s a sprained ankle would get wrapped; however, the area to be wrapped would usually use spray with an aerosol that would turn your skin kind of a sick yellow.  This spray made the skin “stickier”, I’m guessing, to make the wrap hold better.  I’m filling out a health report that asks the question about allergies.  I would like to be able to include that spray in my answer; however, I cannot think of the name for that spray.  Can you help me?  Just so you know, I am from Phoenix Arizona and it is HOT here!

Hello~I have tried to Google a spray as well, have come up with nothing. I am wondering if maybe it was not Betadine to prevent infection? I just don't know.

Wow, I tried searching for that for you in several different ways but no such luck.  Probably because the internet wasn't really a big thing then so this stuff which is no longer used is not mentioned. However, there is something called cast comfort spray which is in an aerosol.  It's got talc, alcohol, sodium bicarbonate and a drying ingredient.  Doubt that is it though.  The good news is if we can't find it, they probably would never use it on you.  :>))  Know any older ER docs or nurses? They might be able to answer this.  Now I want to know!
