dental work neck pain?

sudden neck gland pain after dental work? Had three extractions and a temporary cap placed on right molar, now have sudden pain in gland under jaw

how is your pain to day? and did you ever go back to your dneist for some anitibioctics? feel better soon i had a cavity fixed last tuesday and mouth was sore about 3 days and then i was okay to.

Oh yeah, get back to your dentist and get some antibiotics. Its also possible that you could have a strained muscles. or jaw problems, from keeping your mouth open for long periods of time. You want to make sure you don't have infection from the dental work, If it's muscular, then you do some hot and cold packs. In the mean time, try taking some advil, if you can take it. It will work the best to help with pain and any inflammation that might be present. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Usually they give patients antibiotics and pain medications.  Some pain and swelling are to be expected, but if you think it's more than expected or you are not on antibiotics, give the dentist a call to report your symptoms.
