eye infection

There is nothing in my eye, but it feels like there is grit in the upper lid, its sore,  sensitive to any kind of light. Tried optex but that just made it  sting

I recommend you go see an opthamologist (an eye doctor, not one who prescribes eye glasses) to get it checked out.  You could have a simple infection, or it could be a sign of another medical condition that you'd want to know about, such as Lupus or Sjogren's.

i wonder if you can rinse it with epsom salt and water
