yesterday i had a fever, body aches and chills. No running nose or sore throat. I woke up feeling fine but later became feverish with body aches and still feverish but no sore throat. Is this the beginnning of the flu or just a cold?

The symptoms that you explain is Influenza.  Make sure you drink plenty of fluids like water, juice, consome soup (keep off milk products).  It does not matter if you don't feel like eating, but it is very important to get the fluids into your body so that you do not become deyhrated.

Take pain relief medication as prescribed on the packet that will help ease the aches and help bring down your fever.

Stay at home and have plenty of bed rest until you start to feel well again.

There is no cure for influenza.  Influenza is a viral infection and your body's immune system will be fighting the virus to get you well again.

If you develop other symptoms like coughing with chest discomfort or difficulty breathing, producing discoloured mucus, pain with urination, for example, then contact your doctor as you may have a secondary bacterial infection that may have to be treated by a dose of antibiotics.

wishing you a speedy recovery.
