Definitely!  All kinds of odors trigger mine.  This is very common.  I avoid the triggers as much as possible.

There is actually a food grade hydrogen peroxide out there that can be used as a mouthwash if you're concerned about not being able to use the mouthwash you've been using because of the strong smell.  And, yes, there could be an allergy or a sensitivity to something in the mouthwash.  Be sure to dilute the food grade hydrogen peroxide and don't use it straight.  Diluted it will be fine, but at full strength it might tear up the skin in your mouth.  I speak from experience in this regard.

One other thing you can try is to get some aluminum free baking soda and dilute a small amount in water to rinse your mouth out with.  It does matter that it is aluminum free and that it says it is aluminum free.  Arm and Hammer does not say it is aluminum free, so it does contain aluminum.  I found some aluminum free baking soda in the bulk foods section of my store and tried it out for something else.  The aluminum free stuff is not as harsh.  Plus, with regular use of something like baking soda, you want to stay away from the aluminum, as it is actually considered to be a heavy metal to your body and is attributed to things like Alzheimers.
