knee surface pain

Hello Doc!  I am a fairly healthy female, 42 yo, normal weight.  In my job, I am on my knees frequently.  A few weeks ago I started to notice a pain in my right knee when kneeling.  The pain is localized, kind of like a pin *****-- feels more like it is in the skin as opposed to being a bone or joint issue.  The pain is not illicited by any manual pressure, only the kneeling, which I do often enough that this has become very frustrating.  Your advice in this matter would be very well appreciated.  Thanks!

Hello~It may be that your knee-cap is a wee bit out of alignment, possibly seeing an osteopath would help as he/she could move or manipulate it to get it back where it belongs.

Housemaid's knee, also known as prepatellar bursitis, is caused by inflammation of a small fluid-filled sac (bursa) in front of the kneecap (patella). It more commonly occurs in people who spend long periods of time kneeling. Treatment is usually supportive, and the prognosis is generally good.

The same happened to me in the past and I discovered an answer to it. When I would kneel On my right knee it felt like there was glass under my kneecap. One day I decided to go ahead and Kneel hard on it and roll my kneecap around, enduring the pain. I envisioned that a Crystal had formed in my kneecap and it just needed to be crushed and then my body could absorb it.  After that the pain vanished and never returned so my guess must’ve been correct.
