lightheadedness, nausea, pressure at base of skull, lactation

i have had these symptoms for months now, and i don't know how seriously i should take them. the symptoms are uncomfortable, but i can tolerate them well enough to get through work. i have seen a NP at an OB-GYN clinic about the symptoms upon recommendation of the nurse line of my insurance company. she seemed to dismiss the symptoms as nothing but ran a prolactin test to appease me when i insisted that something wasn't right. the test came back fine. i should mention that i am not pregnant, nor have i been since the symptoms began. also, a white patch on my back was discovered last week. it's about 2"x3" in area and looks like the opposite of a rash. it doesn't itch or anything, but in the heat of bathwater all of my skin is red except this area. it's pretty new.

that's all for recent changes that i've noticed with my health.

now i do have other symptoms that have been troubling me for years that i don't know if it would be related. i have seen a few doctors about the symptoms, but i don't seem to be getting any answers. the symptoms are pretty weird, at least to me. they include pressure and pain in my extremities. it starts about mid-forearm and mid-calf. this is sometimes accompanied by a sensation of heat. these symptoms can sometimes be relieved by squeezing my arms and legs all the way down to my fingers and toes. if i let them be for a few weeks, the symptoms can go as far up as my shoulders and hips.

i am not taking any medications for any of these symptoms. i have tried tylenol, ibuprofen, naproxen, and aspirin. none have any effect. i have tried 1/4 of a generic lortab i had left over from a tooth extraction, but that made the nausea worse and turned the lightheadedness into vertigo. i really don't like taking medicine, as most prescribed things do the same as the lortab.

i just want to know what i can do about all of this. what kind of doctor should i see? what are the possible diagnoses from these symptoms? i'm at a loss, and i don't have enough money to make rounds at different doctors for them to just pass me along to someone else. please help me.

thanks for suggesting a new path. i will look into it. i don't think chiropractic procedures are covered, but if the prices are decent (and there's one to be found in my area) i will definitely give that a look.

i don't want to stop there though. all other paths that anyone can see are still needed in case this doesn't pan out.

thanks again!

Sounds like something connected to your nervous system and that means your spinal column and that means some or many of your symptoms could be alleviated by an Orthospinologist Chiropractor.  Not just a spine-jerking chiropractor, an Orthospinologist ... very gentle Chiropractic.  Start there.  A responsible Orthospinologist [look it up online] will refer you to your doctor if there's anything Medical that needs attention.

I am NOT related to Orthospinology Chiropractic or Chiropractic ... I've used both but it was the Orthospinologist Chiropractor who literally gave me my life back.

Good luck.

i have found other people with the same symptoms online, but they are struggling to find doctors who will listen as well.

the normal doctors i have seen don't seem to have any answer. they look at the paper i fill out with what's bothering me, ask me which one is the worst to deal with, write me a prescription for something, and tell me to come back in 2 weeks if it's not better. other doctors just ask me if i've been stressed and focus on that, even though i haven't been any more or less stressed than normal. then they write me a prescription for stress and give me 2 weeks for that too. as i mentioned, the prescriptions i'm given make it feel worse. i've tolerated the side effects for the 2 week trials at least 4 times. it's agonizing to deal with, and i can't afford the bills for the visits and pills that don't work. it doesn't seem like the doctors i've seen care to confirm what's causing these issues. they just want to treat a symptom and send me on my way.

that's for the old symptoms. for the new symptoms, it seems worse. the lactating is definitely odd. when the test came back fine, the doctor didn't see any reason to even schedule a follow-up even though i'm still lactating. all the other new symptoms have been dismissed as stress. i went to a clinic to see a regular doctor for them and was also told it's stress. well i wasn't before, but i'm stressed now and the symptoms haven't changed. for the record, i haven't seen a doctor since the white patch was discovered.

i appreciate the advice of seeking support. i do have support base to lean on. thank you for that.
