I am going to have my tonsils out and the doctor did a blood test to check my blood count. I was wondering if they would be able to tell if i am pregnant? And what if i had surgery and did not know i was pregnant would the baby be fine?

i had my tonsils removed in december and before they sent me into my operation they did a health check to make sure i was okay to have the op. they do ask you if you are aware of being pregnant and they told me if i wasn't sure then they would let me take a pregnancy test before the op. if you are unsure dont be scared to ask to take a pregnancy test, the doctors need to make sure you are ready as some of the medications they give you may effect the baby. the doctor should always ask you if you are aware anyway, you should be fine. good look in your operation!
