scoliosis and contortion? help please lmao

Im 14 years old [girl] and i have severe scoliosis (over 50 degrees, i expierence pain and compressed nerves, etc.)

currently, i am wearing a cheneau gensingen brace and am getting schroth therapy, so my spine has been straightening.

i’ve always wanted to do contortion, but im scared that stretching my spine is gonna make my scoliosis worse and be counterproductive with my therapy bcs online it says not to hyper extend your back.

it just sucks because its something ive alqays wanted to be good at, but if its gonna cause my back to get worse and stop getting better than i wont do it.

to summarize: does contortion have any negative effects on people with scoliosis?

thank you

You need the doctor that treats you and is helping you with the brace that is straightening your spine to give you an okay.  You don't want to ruin the progress you've made.  It does stink to have to limit the activities you do based on this but the bigger picture is helping your spine so that down the road you will be in a place where you have to limit yourself less.
