side effect or real health problem

My question is really about my father; he is 78 years old in general good health.  He takes 5 mg blood pressure med and he takes Flomax daily. When he first started taking Flomax; which he needs to be able to urinate or as he says to keep his plumbing working, anyway, he would have dizzy spells.  His doctor said this was normal, a side effect of Flomax.  But now lately he has been passing out; I think that is unusual for any medication and I'm worried there may be something else going on.  He will not go to see the doctor because he also thinks it's because of the Flomax.  He checks his blood pressure constantly and it's usually within the normal range.  Is it possible there is something else going on or is it just the Flomax side effect??  I'm worried as he lives alone, my mother died 4 years ago of liver cancer and my father blames the dr's; because they did not follow through on tests for fatty liver.  That's another reason he refuses to see the doctor.  If there is a possibility that there is another problem (maybe heart) although he did have the stress test and it was good I need to know so that I can find him a good doctor and convince him to go and see one.  Thank you

Thank you both for your responses; I am definitely going to work on getting him in to see his doctor.  His blood pressure medicine was reduced when first put on the Flomax and he even stopped taking the bp med for a couple of days (his own decision) which I strongly let him know I didn't agree with; but he started taking it again when his bp dropped drastically.

Hi and sorry about your father,
I just looked up side effects and flomax and it said see a physician right away if you get fainting, so it could be the flomax and is a serious side effect. He needs to get in to see a physician right away. It can also be the blood pressure med that is making his blood pressure go too low possibly. Both things need to be checked. I'm also very sorry about your mother. This is a lot to deal with. I have through something similar where my mother didn't want to get help. In the end I had to call 911 to get her in because she couldn't walk and had a wound etc. Since you are taking care of him you have to get him in.

In my opinion, sounds like the flomax which he probably is taking for his prostate.  Either the dosage should be decreased or the medication changed completely.

Does he have a heart issue,  a bp issue or just this prostate issue?

He definitely needs to have this followed up with a physician; good luck with that.
