vaginal odor and dischager

I recently just had a baby 5months ago and was told by my OB the the heavy dischager was normal with breastfeeding... I havn't breastfed for about 3 months now and it has still countinued. I noticed a odor coming from my vaginal area, so I went back to my OB. She did a culture and every thing came back normal... but the problem is still there, sometime with the discharge its itchy and sometimes it's not... four years ago when i was pregnant with my son i remember the Dr. giving me a medication that I put in my vagina at night (i dont remember what it was or what it was for)... Does any one what this could be?

The only thing I think it could be is a yeast infection.  After I had my son and while I was pregnant with him, I got ALOT of yeast infections and it also causes an odor and discharge.  You can actually buy the ointment you insert in your vagina OTC and ask your OB for it as well.. You can get a better strength of the medication and it will be more effective.  I know when I would get a yeast infection it would get dry and itchy down there but not always then I would have a really yucky whitish yellow discharge.  Its a pain in the butt.

i have the same prob, i had a baby 5months ago on 28thof june but sadly my baby was still born, since i gave birth iv'e had al sorts of infections down below, to me it sound like thrush which iv'e had and doctors gave me caniston duo and that's a oral tablet i put up my self and a cream with it to. but now i have another infection down there and i'm taking anti biotics for. you either need caeniston duo that you insert in yourself or anti biotics to get rid of a bacterial infction but to me it sounds like your have thrush so caniston duo sounds best and you can get that by your local chemist x

You may have a common yeast infection. Try a over the counter suppository...it certainly wouldn't hurt. If this doesn't remedy the problem then go back to your doc..or better yet, ask to see a gynecologist.
