vitamin D

Hello everyone ,
A relative of mine had some blood tests done , it was found that he has vitamin D deficiency . i would like to ask few questions concerning that .
1- is it true that calcium might be affected  if he has low vitamin D even though the blood tests showed nothing concerning calcium  ?
2- is there any relation between both ?
3- should he take calcium needles even though his blood tests were normal ?

p.s , he is already on track on solving his vitamin D deficiency .

Blood Calcium:

teenagers and young adults (low 10's)
35+ below 10.2 mg/dl
40+ not have calcium levels above 10.0 / 10.1

Almost all people over 35 have calcium levels "in the 9's" almost all the time.

If his Calcium level was good do not take calcium supplements. Taking Vitamin D will utilize what calcium he has and is getting from his diet in a more efficient way.

Plenty of water is needed in order to flush excess calcium from the body. too much calcium can be deposited into arteries which is bad.

Hello~

He needs to take extra Vitamin D supplements daily. I have a low Vitamin D blood level, I take 10 thousand IU's daily per my doctor's orders, this should help with the calcium absorption as well. No matter how much calcium your relative takes, it will not absorb properly without the needed Vitamin D to assimilate it.
