Medicare Formulary knowledge

Has anyone ever been involved in getting a medicine added to the "Formulary"?
Curious as to how long it truly takes, as we are waiting for the add of SOFOSBUVIR to cure HCV, in order for Medicare to approve costs.  
Dr. said not before end of year 2013, which is only a couple of weeks away.

Reading down I see you didn't get an estimate, perhaps you can now give us an answer.

I am confused about what the "Formulary" is - guess I could do a search.  To I wonder about Medicare and your indicated age of 59, are you asking for someone older?

I am senior aged, but rarely drop by this community.
