Pregnancy

Hello I'm 18 and 5weeks pregnant I had went to the hospital due to cramping but I found out I was pregnant and they did a vaginal and external ultra sound and all they seen was the gestational sac and the doctor said it could possibly a miscarriage Bc by now half the time you'd see the baby. And it scared me Bc I have had a miscarriage back in January at 6 w and 4d should I be worried?

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would repeat the ultrasound using the tranvaginal probe.  At 5 weeks it is almost impossible to see much except a gestational sac, so waiting another week or two will be important.  ALSO, if you were to do pregnancy hormone levels--beta hcg (a blood test) if the tests are done two days apart--the results should approximately double if your pregnancy is healthy and not going to miscarry.
Hope this helps!
