I have 2 girls and since giving birth 18 months ago I have increased on yeast infection which i am treating at home with cream, which always helps. I have recently started to develop small cuts/tears on perineum. They are very painful when urinating or washing. I can describe it as stinging pain, very sharp one. Sex is out of question for us and its getting us down very much though my husband is very understanding!
What is causing these cuts? How can I avoid them or prevent them to appear in future?
Maybe i must mention that these cuts appear on their own, without having sex before occurance!
I will be making an appointment soon with doc but just looking for some answers for now as its draining me mentally!
Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that your yeast infection is probably causing the lesions. I would suggest stopping all topical medications and using only Crisco (or other vegetable shortening). I would also recommend using Diflucan orally instead. I usually prescribe one dose followed by a repeat dose if necessary in three days. I also like probiotics to help re-establish the normal lactobacillus (good bacteria). I don't like the topical creams because they can cause a reaction that is as bad or worse than the original yeast. Hope this helps! Dr B
I noticed a lump on the lip of my vagina, further down from my clitoris, it started on the right side and went away over night but now one has formed on the left side and is a bit bigger and isn't painful but I can feel it there and it gets irratated, the right side didn't hurt at all and my left side has been there for two days. Any idea on what it is?
