longer period because of oral contraceptives

ok well i 17 and i just started the Watson birth control pills. i took it within the first 24 hours of my period like i was supposed to but now its a week later and i still have my period. its much lighter but its definitly still there. ive always been very regular and 3 to 4 days long. is there a reason to worry or should i just wait a few more days to see if it goes away.... is this normal?

Hi!
We usually recommend waiting for three packs before giving up on a pill--it often takes that long for your system to adjust.  If you were my patient, I would recommend waiting a while longer.  Sometimes when you have an extra long period at the beginning, you skip yours during the placebo.  Just keep asking questions before you stop taking them!
Good luck!
