parovarian cyst

what is a paraovarian cyst?  Is it cancerous?  What's the treatment for one that is 8 cm?

A paraovarian cyst is benign mass arising from structures near the ovaries (tubal and broad ligments).  You don’t need to do anything about them, unless they cause symptoms like pain or compression of near by structures.  They can cause torsion or twist on it and cut off blood flow.  This would manifest in intense, acute pain of the abdomen.  If they cause problems, it can be surgically removed.
