ultrasounnd results

In 2006 I had malignant struma ovarii with papillary carcinoma I was seeing dr rose at the cleveland clinic but got divorced and no longer have medical ins. I went the other day to the er because I have been having pain they did a transvaginal ultrasound with color flow doppler evaluation and spectral waveform analysis the results are the uterus measures 8.4x4.6x4.7 cm in size and appears anterverted. The endometrial echo is 0.6 cm in thickness and there is a small uterine fibroid measuring 6x9x6 mm in size with accompanying nabothian cysts. The right ovary demonstrates heterogeneous echotexture measuring 3.1x2.4x2.2 cm there are multiple follicles on the right. The left ovary measures 1.7x1.9x1.0 cm and appers heterogeneous with adjacent 1.3x1.1x1.0 cm mass there is positive doppler waveform analysis and normal blood flow.
Impression
Small nabothian cyst in the lower uterine segment
Multiple follicles in the right ovary possible involuting cyst or follicle suggesting corpus albicans on the left ovary
Trace free pelvic fluid.
I was wondering if u could tell me what it all means because right now I can't find a dr who will see me w/o medical ins

Thank you for your reply. I am 35 and tend to have 3 weeks of bleeding a month due to polyps (sp) the mass part does scare me for one reason is I had the cancer in my left ovary and it not being fluid filed. My last appt I had with Dr. Rose was a little over a year ago and he told me he thought maybe it had came back and wanted me to get another pet scan done but my ins was due to run out in less then a week and I had no time to make that appt. (Cleveland clinic is always busy) I have been calling Drs. But so far no one will accept self pay.

Hi!
The forum is open for business!
If you came to me as a patient and asked me to interpret your ultrasound results, I would want to consult with your oncolgist about your history before making too many comments. I can tell you that the size of your uterus is normal.  There is a tiny fibroid and some nabothian cysts noted -- these are not very significant findings.  Follicles are normal findings in the ovary, in general. A corpus albicans is a normal finding as well.  The size of the endometrium could be of concern depending upon your age and menstrual history, but is probably normal.  The question and concern that I would have and want to discuss with your previous doctor is the mass near the left ovary.  It is quite small (about the size of a raisin). But I can't interpret its significance without more information. A trace of free fluid is also normal.
I hope this helps, but would strongly encourage you to find a doctor, as the "mass" is of some concern given your history.
Dr B
