Cramps

Hi i have had my period for 5 years now but i can't seem to find a way to get rid of these killer cramps. I have gone to an obgyn but they said there was nothing they could do. I've tried almost every trick in the book and i take 600mg of ibeprofen a day when im on my period. That only takes off the edge but it is still unbearable and i can't focus at school ever. I need help! :'(

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that there are some prescription strength medications for dysmenorrhea that might help you more.  We also often use oral contraceptive pills to reduce period cramps.  Sometimes we can space the periods three months apart and give you a break in between.
You should speak with your doctor again, or find another one.
Good luck!
