How long are the spermatosoids alive?

Hello. I was wondering if it is possible to get pregnant if you take the sperm out of the condom with a syrynge and inject the sperm in the vagina? How realistic is it to get pregnant like this? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Doctor,

I've been told by another doctor, that because they are spermicides in condom, it is not likely that the spermatozoids will sirvive? what is your opinion on this? thanks

Hello,

Yes, it is possible.  A couple of things though.  Sperm can live for up to 72hrs.  And you'd have to do this around the time of your ovulation.

That said, I have some ethical concerns about a woman trying to get pregnant this way.  How would your "partner" feel about you doing this?

Best regards,

Dr. Downing
