Observation with continued colposcopy is usually an option reserved for adolescents. In that case, one would undergo colposcopy and cytology at six-month intervals for one year with biopsy-confirmed CIN 2, provided colposcopy is satisfactory, endocervical curettage is negative, and the possibility of occult disease is acknowledged by the patient.
