Safe to conceive after D&C and having one cycle?

I had a miscarriage and D&C on Dec. 15th. SInce then I have had one cycle. Should I try to conceive? What are my odds of another miscarriage do to a thin uterine lining? Are my odds of not miscarrying better if I wait 2 cycles? I want to be prego sooner than later, but at the same time don't want to set myself farther back, if I do get prego but miscarry due to the fact that it can't implant. I need guidance on what to do.

Hi!
The standard recommendation is to wait for three cycles.  For the reason you mention--there is a slightly higher rate of miscarriage if a new pregnancy is conceived within three months of a D&C.  This is not to say that if an oops happens it is necessarily a bad thing.

I usuallly recommend that my patients not "try" for three months, but I don 't usually tell them to start birth control either.

Hope this is not too wishy washy!

Good luck!
