Tummy issues

I have never been able to conceive. Which is awful because I've always wanted children. My issue is I haven't had my period for 5 months now, my areolas have become darker, and my abdominal area is different. It started with my lower abdomen with feeling like a full or bloating feeling then it moved up to my upper abdomen area. Now my upper abdomen area is always distended and hard. The feeling is like a fullness, pressure feeling. I also get these weird flutters or twitches all in my abdominal area from my pelvic area to my upper stomach. They are sometimes HARD flutters or twitching. I want to say it feels as if there is a baby inside but like I stated I've never been able to conceive. I feel these movements more when I'm lying down on my side or on my stomach. I haven't took a pregnancy test cause I know it will be negative. I've also read a quite a few stories similar to mine minus the them not having their period or no stomach hardness. I'm just one of those women who is scared to find out what's going on. (even know I know it's best to see a doctor) I'm just wondering and hoping someone can give me a clue maybe to what might be the cause. I also don't have insurance and unemployed. Another reason i'm hesitating on seeing a doctor. All the other stories I've read similar to mine no one seems to have came up with an answer. So if anyone has any possible answers besides seeing a doctor which I know I have to please clue me in it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that you probably have a variant of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or PCOS.  This is seen more commonly in overweight women, and sometimes losing as little as 10% of your body weight (15-20lb ) can result in cycles resuming normally and fertility as well.
PCOS is treatable, and you could probably have a child with the help of medications such as Clomid.
One other thing to think about is that missing your period for long stretches of time can result in a build up within the uterus which can eventually result in cancer if you ignore it long enough.
Taking medication for as little as 5 days 4-5 times per year can prevent that.
I would encourage you to go to your doctor, or nurse practicioner if you don't like doctors.
Good luck!
Dr B

You just wasted $20 bucks on asking this question simply because the most obvious thing to do is take a pregnancy test. just Take the pregnancy test!! Don't be scared. You have nothing to loose and even that shouldn't stop you from trying to conceive. Dont loose faith! you have nothing to loose but maybe no more than $10 bucks at a pharmacy. :)
