Worried

For several years I have developed (around 1 a month) a small knot , cyst, or boil either on one side of my clitoris, the crease beside my clitoris, or on the opening of my vagina. They are painful and typically will rupture (bleed a little) after wiping from going to the bathroom. Some have gotten a little on the large side (maybe smaller than a dime).  I have had a pap smear and had nothing come back abnormal. What could this be and how can I prevent it? Should I be tested for anything?
Thanks!

Hello,

It's hard to know what this might be without having the opportunity to examine you.   When the symptoms return, go see your gyn to be examined.  Seeing you when the symptom is present will be most helpful.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing
