Can Bicornuate uterusbe causing pain?

My 17 yr. old daughter is having discomfort in her pelvis and lower back.  A diagnostic ultrasound showed a Bicornuate uterus but everything else appeared normal.  Has anyone has pelvic/lower back discomfort from this condition?

Thank you very much for your response.  I am getting a copy of the report sent over to my Gyn before I discuss this with my daughter.  I don't want to alarm her. What are the symptoms of endometriosis?

Hi!
With any type of uterine "anomaly" endometriosis is very common.  If your daughter was my patient, I would either take her for laparoscopy/laser, or treat presumptively for endometriosis and see if she improved.  Either way to go is acceptable.  You may have a little trouble convincing some of the older doctors that endometriosis is possible in a girl so young -- this is a relatively new finding in some of the studies.  Also, endometriosis looks different in younger patients.  SO make sure to find a doctor who is up to date!  (most are).
Good luck!
