labial itching

i developed itching in my labia majora inner part just 1 year before i got married, i applied clotrimazole cream after which it subsided. After 6 months of marriage i became pregnant and after delivery i developed the same itching and even white discharge,,i was told to use candid v cream as they thought it is candidiasis.the condition subsided but i still feel the itch every alternate day from past 7 months of my delivery..the day i don't have itch i can see a white layer on the labial (majora) skin (inner side) and worst is that sometimes i bleed after scratching from labial skin.i am really tensed what might it be??
i was told by my friend that one may develop cancer after chronic itching,,,is it true??  plz help me out..what should i do?

Hi!
Your friend is correct that chronic itching can be a sign of cancer, and
Although I think it is unlikely that you have cancer, what you are describing is not typical for candida (yeast).

The best advice I can give you is to see your doctor for a skin biopsy of the area.  This is a minor office procedure which is not much more exciting than having a cavity filled.  It will not only rule out cancer, it will also give you a diagnosis of what you are dealing with and that will help in deciding what to use to treat the problem.

Don't put it off much longer!

this sounds similar to my symptoms, i have just had a biopsy, and awaiting results.  the biopsy was very straightforwad.  I am very relieved that ive had it done, i would suggest you have it done, as in the last post, you will be able to get a diagnosis.  good luck

Itching can also be a sign of lichen sclerosis.  It should also show up in a biopsy.  The longer you wait, the longer it takes to get things under control.
