Brown discharge, please help!!!

Hi, I'm fifteen almost sixteen. You don't know how many websites I've tried to look this up on, but they didn't help me, so hopefully this one can. On to the point: I haven't had my period for almost two and a half years because I had too low body fat and too low hormones. I took a pill for it prescribed by my gyno, but that didn't help me, all it did was make me angry. It didn't make me start my period at all. That was a little under a year ago and I haven't taken another pull since. Just this past month, my breasts have gotten bigger and I've gained about twenty pounds, I'd say. Just two days ago, I woke up and went to the bathroom and discovered brown and a little red discharge in my panties and lots of it. I took a shower and the discharge continued little by little as the da went on, accompanied by a little bit of dirt-looking stuff in the toilet almost every time I went to the bathroom. Last night, the brown, snot-like discharge completely dispeared and now today, nothing is happening and I have no discharge at all. I never had any cramps and only had lower back pain, but that's normal for me since I work out and don't really know how to stretch my back. This morning I also had diarrehea, but that's been normal for the past week. Am I going to have my period, did I jut have my period that one day, or something else? What is happening to me?! (PS. I've NEVER had any sexual intercourse in my life, so pregnancy and implantation bleeding are WAY out of the question.) Please answer to the best of your ability and ASAP. Thanks in advance.

Thanks! I really appreciate the response! :) My mom says it's probably mostly due to stress also.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that you have probably gained enough weight at this point to "wake up" your hypothalamic-pituitary axis and sort of jump start puberty.  The brownish discharge is very likely blood and probably is a "period" of sorts. You will want to keep track of what happens next write down the days that you have bleeding.  It may happen right on schedule next month or even morph into a real period.
Hope this helps!
