Hi!
Yes, your symptoms are common. As long as the bleeding is getting less and less, you are OK. If you start bleeding too often, to heavily, or for prolonged periods of time, it is time to call your doctor. If the symptoms are really intense and interfering with your lifestyle, there are some hormone prescriptions that can alleviate them. Most people are trending away from the hormones unless the symptoms are really miserable. If so, it is really pretty safe to take a low dose for a short period of time to "take the edge off".
Good luck!

I am also a 50 year old woman who is going through the menopause. I haven't menstruated since May this year and since then have suffered from abdominal bloating every day even in the morning when I get up.
I also need to use pantyliners to avoid a continuous staining on my pants.
I eat bioyoghurt most days which has reduced the pain that I used to get with the bloating.
I think the problem may be due to stress as I am moving house and trying to get a new job along with other family issues, but the symptoms only seem to make me feel worse!
Are my symptoms normal and is there anything I can do to reduce the bloating?
Thanks
During menopause these symptoms are generally seen. There are medicines (hormonal medicines) which can help you because during menopause changes in the hormone level happens.
