period after 2 years

I have not had a period for 2 years and then all of the sudden I started bleeding last night and cramping ,is this normal for a 47 year old female.

Ok thanks for the advice ,I have a doctors appt for next Monday with my Gyno

Hi!
Short answer is NO!  IF you were my patient,  I would want to do a complete exam and Pap smear as well as an ultrasound and endometrial ( uterine ) biopsy.
MOST likely cause is hormonal imbalance, but cancer needs to be ruled out.
