vaginal tears during labor

Hello, during my second labor I teared pretty bad-my son came out very fast.My doctor had stitched me, but not good enough. There are some small pieces of skin hanging inside very close to vaginal opening, short part of back vaginal wall is devided(was never stitched) and the tear towards rectum isn't closed right either. After every intercourse I feel burning down there.whenever I wear tight jeans I feel very uncomfortable "down there" due to rubbing it.Oh, that labor was 2 years ago.My questions are : could or/and should it be "fixed" by that doctor who delivered my baby?Is it too late?Who would be responsible for the costs(I don't have insurance). What are the costs of it?Please advise.Thank You

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
There is a surgery known as a perineorrhaphy/perineoplasty which can be done to correct problems such as yours.  In some cases it can be done on an outpatient basis.
If you are having pain such as you describe, the surgery could be covered by insurance, although if you get insurance now it would probably be labled as a pre-existing condition.
If you don't have insurance, you could pay out of pocket. Often hospitals or big medical centers can arrange for charity care or reduced fees based on income levels.  Another option would be to visit a medical school/residency program.
As far as cost go, I am not too good at estimating, and prices vary depending on what needs to be done and where you live, etc.  But, I would not think it would be much more than $3-4,000.  You could ask your other half for an anniversary gift--he would benefit from the surgery as well!
Good luck!

Thank you for your help, but one more thing.Shouldn't it be fixed by the doctor who delivered my baby?If she had spent a little bit more time on stitching I wouldn't have a problem today.Thank You
