10 week test

Sir approximately 9-11 weeks ago I had unprotected sex with a female. Since then I have had swollen glands two in my neck, one in my armpit, and one in my groin. I tested negative for all stds at 6 weeks and hiv negative at I believe anywhere from 9-11 weeks ago. I am so worried that I can't remember the exact time we had sex. Since the swollen glands I have had a cbc, a cat scan of my lymphnodes, and all std test. The doctor said that a couple glands are swollen but not to worry he doesn't think it is hiv. For about 3 weeks now I have been feeling extremely hot, I sweat all the time for no reason, and my skin is hot to the touch. I am in the military and I am currently deployed. This all happened when I was seperated from my wife for a year, and she said she wants me to get an std test when I get back and I am paranoid that I will be positive and we will never be together again. Please tell me what generation of test the military uses and how accurate my test would be from 9-11 weeks thank you sir. My hiv test was performed at brooks lab in texas if that helps sir.

Sir I know that symptoms aren't a reliable indicator, but I usually am a very healthy person and I am freaked out about how bad I've been feeling lately. I currently am on a few supplements, could they cause my skin to feel hot all the time, or glands to stay swollen. Also what stds wouldn't show up after 6 weeks besides a hiv test? Thank you for your time sir.

Good Morning,

It sounds as though all this is a storm in a teacup. The doctor looking after you has taken things seriously and has done the right things including a CAT scan and also other blood tests. I would be very happy with these results.

I don't know what HIV Test the US military uses but I would assume that it would be good and modern.

What I can say is that an antibody test at anytime from 6 weeks onwards will give you greater than 99% accuracy - and I think you're test was at 9 plus weeks ? This suggests to me that all is well, that you are not HIV positive and that things will be fine.

Do you know what though? I would have a full set of STD tests again, just to put your mind firmly to rest. I really do not believe you have HIV at all - but your worry about it is very obvious and so I think you should definitely test to get rid of this worry once and for all.

very best wishes, Sean
