HIV Concerns

I had sex with a woman in Nigeria twice over the past 6 weeks. On both occassions I checked that the condom was not broken. However, in the past two weeks I have had the following symptoms, chills without running a temperature, dry and itch skin without a rash, midly sort throat. My symptoms are now getting better but now my partner has started to complain about the same things. My questions are
1. Are the symptoms indicative of HIV infection

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post.
If you had protected sexual intercourse and the condom remained in place and intact, there would have been no risk of HIV infection at all whatsoever. Therefore I do not believe that your and your wife's symptoms have anything to do with it. Symptoms are not specific and they are much more likely to be related to a simple viral illness.
The only justification for a test would be for your peace of mind. You could have a HIV Duo test after 28 days of the encounter. The result will be negative. Contracting HIV is very difficult; impossible with an intact condom.
Best wishes,
José
