Herpes simplex

Hi, few months back I tested myself for HSV 1 and 2. The test of HSV 1+2-IgGAb to Herpes Simplex Virus, serum by CLIA came indeterminate with reading at 0.961 and HSV1+2-IgMAb to Herpes Simplex Virus, serum by EIA came in negative with reading at 0.06. What to read of the result

Hello,
Thank you very much for your post.
A herpes serology test like this is considered conclusive after at least 12 weeks (84 days) following the possible infection.  The fact that the IgM was negative would xclude a recent infection.  The indeterminate result (being close to 1.0) might indicate that the test was carried out too early.  However it could also indicate that it is negative.  I woudl suggest that you get this repeated after 12 weeks of the encounter and compare the results with this test.  It might remain the same (indeterminate) or drop to negative, but it might also confimr that the result is positive.
Best wishes,
Dr José
