Is my test conclusive?

Hello doctor, i will make my question short.

Had protected vaginal sex with sexworker. Unfortunatly, my condom broke. 16 days after i started feeling symptoms and got very scared. I got the courage to test. I tested with an HIV COMBI test 55 days after exposure and the result was non reactive with index value o 0.15.

My questions are:

1. Do i need to test at 3 months? Or have a pcr rna test?
2. Can i be 100% sure i did not get infected with hiv due to my negative test  55 days post exposure?
3. Can i have unprotected sex with my wife?
4. Can i forget about this incident and continue with my life?

Thanks for your time doctor!

1. For which stds specifically should i test?

You can be sure that you do not have HIV - but there are much more common and much more frequent and much more infectious STD's such as gonorrhoea, chlamydia, herpes, syphilis that you need to exclude also before I would say that you will not expose your wife to an STD.

2. Just to be extra sure, i dont need to worry about hiv, and my test is fully conclusive?

Hello

1. Do i need to test at 3 months? Or have a pcr rna test?

No, the test you have had is more than sufficient and has established that you are HIV negative.

2. Can i be 100% sure i did not get infected with hiv due to my negative test  55 days post exposure?

Yes.

3. Can i have unprotected sex with my wife?

You can be sure that you do not have HIV - but there are much more common and much more frequent and much more infectious STD's such as gonorrhoea, chlamydia, herpes, syphilis that you need to exclude also before I would say that you will not expose your wife to an STD.

As above and especially in answer 3. The responsibility for protecting your loved ones lies with you so make sure you have tested for the other conditions also.
