Oral Sex Clarification - HHH, MD
Dear Doc,
This is the second time I am coming on this forum. I had unprotected oral sex in indonesia with 2 prostitues and protected vaginal sex. I had a negative antibody test after 25 days. But after 4 weeks of my exposure I has mild sore throat , just itchy, I thought it will go but it didnot and also sometime mild pain behing my right year and righ jaw only (no other symptoms). I went to the doctor and he told me its some allergy or infection. He gave me a mouhtwash and some antibiotics. Now after 4 days it much better. I got anxious and ordered a HIV home testing from EZ-Trust and after 47 days from my last exposure the results was negative. I also have mild psoriasis on the scalp which is with me for last 10 yeaars. Can it delay the antibody test results since its a immune disease. Also do I need to test again since my sore throat is getting better and I might me in the seroconversion window as such. Kindly advice

I am sure you are fine and not HIV positive from what you describe.
The protected vaginal sex will protect you from HIV even if the sex workers were HIV positive which obviously we don't know.
In addition, unprotected oral sex is a zero risk to ultra low risk activity.
You have also had two HIV tests which were negative.
I do not believe you are HIV positive and you should now let this go.

Dear Doc,
I have a HIV test at 10 weeks and it is negative, but there is something in my throat which is not going away, its soo mild and can only be felt when i breathe. Also I have one painfull lymph node which is sweeled in my neck. Yesterday I got a canker sore in my lip as well. Do I need further testing

I don't have anything to add to my comment above I'm afraid except to say that if you still feel there is a possibility get a reliable test done by a reliable physician. I'm not able to comment on the home test as they are illegal in the UK and I have no experience of them.

thanks a lot for your reply, just wanted to know what is usual symptom of a sore throat in ARS period and is a 47 day test conclusive, since I have done it at home using home kit
