I have to say that this sounds totally unbelievable. How can that be possible? If that was the case, why did he carry on eating it? Why didn't he complain? I have never heard anything so ridiculous!
Anyhow, even assuming the most ridiculous of situations, and there had been blood at the bottom of the English muffin(!!!), that would not have posed any risk for your husband from the point of view of HIV infection, even if it was blood (and not strawberry jam....) and this blood had been infected, the virus would have not been viable anyway, also the saliva would have neutralise the virus, even with an open cut of the gum.
Please forget it! I cannot beleive I am even aswering this question.
