6 week HIV test

My 6 week HIV test ( antibody test done by labcorp), after being pricked by a needle starting an IV, was negative. The patient was also tested and was negative for HIV. My test was 44 days after the needle stick. How accurate is my test? I'm worried because my husband had a very sore throat with fever. The sore throat lasted 3 days, was better after antibiotics were started and only had fever one day. I'm so very afraid that I could be hurting him or my baby by breastfeeding. I know the patient tested negative, but I keep thinking about the possibility of the patient being in the window period.

You are not following Forum rules.  As Dr. Handsfield told you 10 days ago, we ask clients to limit themselves to 2 questions in 6 months.  You have not done this.

Your fears are inappropriate.  If you had acquired HIV and transmitted it to your husband your HIV test would have been positive.  It was not.  Thus you had a very, very low risk exposure, a negative test at 6 weeks when over 95% of tests would be positive and your husband has a common, run of the mile sore throat.  If you cannot control your fears and anxieties, I urge you to seek professional counseling, not to spend more money asking repetitive questions.  I say this out of concern for you and your mental health, nothing more.  EWH

I just would really appreciate any help. I'm so scared I'm hurting my family. I don't want to make anyone sick. My husband had a sore throat and a fever and his neck hurt. I have read that those are symptoms of ARS. I am just so afraid I am hurting my baby and my husband. It's a horrible thing to think that you are hurting people you love. Please help.
