Dr Hook Follow Up - Fingering / DNA

Dr, Apologies for new thread and ID but previous email address information was lost while travelling and I could not remember old id. info, apologies. Previous post was from ID: Worried__10 in April 2009. Just a short follow up question. (brief desc. - massage with :) ending. touched masseuse (female) on clitoris area. Did not penetrate with finger. Slight fluids on finger. (2-4 secs only) Small peeled skin area on finger which bled earlier that morning. (approx 3 hrs previous) U/k if area contacted Vag fluids) Had DNA PCR approximately 17 days after. Neg result. Posted on forum to which you stated NO RISK. As you are expert you are comfortable with knowledge on HIV. I am not expert and am scared. Had normal blood test at 6 weeks. Neg result. Now am at about 9 weeks am lethargic, have had head ache for a few days, slight night sweats. Just a little conconcered and would like to put all of this behind me. Your advice will do that based on the strength of my 2 x NEG tests and the period of testing. Please some final recommendations. Ashamed Father.

Sigh.  You just don't get it.  There is no possibility your baby has HIV from you, since you do not have it.

But the illness in your child sounds serious.  Please immediately phone your pediatrician's office -- even though it is Sunday.  If you cannot get personal advice from the pediatrician on call, go to an emergency room or urgent care clinic.

If you post any additional comment on this thread, the entire thread will be immediately deleted without reply.  This is not a counseling site for people who cannot accept the advice we give.

I apologise for this post. It will be my last for this thread against your previous advice. please if you could answer this i would be much appreciated. I completed a third test at 9 to 10 weeks, just after my last post and it returned a neg result. Can i now say 100% that I do not have HIV. My concern is driven from a very high fever and all over body rash (torso, feet, face and hands) that my still breast feeding infant has. I feel sick that i may be responsible. Can you please answer my final question. My sincere apologies and thanks

There is nothing to add to the previous recommendations from Dr.  Hook. His closing comment when you asked the same question a month ago was "No further testing is needed.  You never had anything to worry about and the results of your PCR test prove this."  That remains the case.  Your symptoms do not even hint at an HIV infection and are not possibly related in any way to the fingering event, unless they are due to your anxieties about it, which sounds like a pretty good bet.

No further comments or discussion on this.  Do not post another thread about it.  See a health care provider if you remain concerned about your symptoms.
