Good grief. These comments miss the point. Did you read the title of the research report? "...Drug-involved, inner-city, street sex workers in Miami" are not exactly typical. The statements made on this forum about the AVERAGE frequency of HIV in most CSWs in the United States and other industrialized countries remain true.
No ongoing discussion. This thread is closed.
Over 22% of the female sex workers in that study had HIV? I find that extremely hard to believe. Even considering the activities being engaged in by the women, that seems to be an incredibly high number.
Are you made a joke? "if you are in the US or other industrialized country, the odds are the sex worker doesn't have HIV anyway."
Are you made a joke?

Because of HIV testing policies in most Middle East islamic countries, very few people have HIV. There are no worries here.

I AM IN DUBAI , WILL TEST AFTER 9 WEEKS BE O K . THANKS FOR UR RESPONSE.
There is no signficant risk of HIV from this event. HIV infected people do not have enough virus in saliva to transmit the infection; saliva inactivates the virus. Even if scant blood were present, it wouldn't make much difference. And if you are in the US or other industrialized country, the odds are the sex worker doesn't have HIV anyway.
From a risk assessment perspective, you don't need to be tested. But this and your thread last August suggest you are an axious sort of person, and most likely my reassurance will not settle your fears. If you will sleep better having a negative test result, go ahead and do it. You can count on a negative results. (This is not "code" to suggest I really believe there was some risk. I do not.)
