Enjoying the Outer Banks

Dr. H,

If you have never been here I would encourage you to visit. I appreciate all you have done, you have made my August more relaxing minus a hurricane. I do have 2 follow up questions, not looking to be a pain. I want to go back to NY with a clear head as i am still having joint and muscle pain and lymph nodes are still swollen in neck.

1) When we last spoke you said my 28 day PCR( costly in the outer banks, I could rent a house for 2 more weeks for what I paid) and neg hiv 1/2 antibody test is definitive. Do I need to retest?

2) I did a 35,42 and 45 day hiv 1/2 antibody test as well and they are all neg.

Are my results conclusive? Do I need to test out. Is the combo pcr and hiv 1/2 at 28 days a conclusive test.

I appreciate everything you have done, I am sitting here on the beach with 2 nights left and thank you for all your support and kindness.

Regards,
Hatteras

Thanks for your offer.  We do not accept donations.  if you felt the need I would encourge you t dontate to ASHA- they are a non-profit that does great things for persons with an at risk for STDs (Disclosure. Dr. Handsfield and I are both members of the American Social Health Association Board of Directors.).  EWH

thanks a million I was able to enjoy the beach and came back to NY with a relaxed and new perspective on life. I appreciate what you and Dr. HHH do, sometimes we have to have faith and trust the experts and their opinions which are based on years of expierence.

Does your clinic accept donations, if so how could I go about making one.

I'm surprised.  On one hand you worry about costs of testing and on the other you ask a questions that has already been answered emphatically.  I can't imagine why you would think my assessment would change.

1.  Retesting would be a waste of time and money
2.  Your results are conclusive, proving that you did not get HIV from a low risk sexual exposure.

I need to point out that we limit clients to 2 questions in any six month period on our Forums. This is your 3rd.  Further questions will be deleted without comment.  You need to go out and enjoy the beach.  EWH
