Amoxicillin indeed could make the gonorrhea and chlamydia tests negative -- but only becuase it would cure them, not simply suppress the test result. In other words, a negative urine test result following amoxicillin is reliable evidence you didn't have either infection at the time of the test. It cannot distinguish between having never been infected versus infected and cured.
thank doctor.....i was worrying that the course of amoxillin i was taking for tonsilitis would affect the
accuracy of the chlamydia and gonorrhea urine test.....
anyway i will drop my thought and keep my mouth shut.....thanks again, doctors
Since your gonorrhea and chlamydia tests are negative, I guess I don't understand why you ask. In any case, they are not known to predispose to UTI or urosepsis. As I already said, your UTI problem is unrelated to any sexual activity you have had, in Melbourne or anywhere else. Drop those thoughts.
Thank you doctor. just one very last question.
Would the urosepsis be secondary to un-diagnosed Gonorrhea or Chlamydia? (Even my Gonorrhea or Chlamydia urine tests are negative at day 100)
I remember I had antibiotics treatment one month prior to my urine tests due to tonsilitis, could that affect the urine tests result? is that urine test conclusive?
Thanks doctor..
I promise this is my last questions about this issue.
Welcome back to the forum.
The blood tests for HIV are among the most accurate diagnostic tests that exist for any medical condtion. Your negative test result proves you were not infected. And in any case, urinary tract infections and urosepsis are no more common in people with or without HIV infection. As Dr. Hook advised last time, you had a sexual experience that carried no significant risk of HIV.
I'm sorry to hear of your recent urosepsis. But it has nothing to do with HIV or with your sexual adventures in Melbourne last year.
