Oral Thrush and severe diarrhea

Hi I am a 30 year old male.  About three weeks ago I was at a bachelor party and received unprotected oral sex from a stripper.  About two days later my tongue was covered with a whitish film and I had severe diarrhea.  I've read that these could be signs of early HIV infection.  Couls these symptoms show as early as two days later from a possible HIV infection.  I am not sure if the stripper was HIV positive but it doesn't comfort me that she would do that without protection.  I mean how many other guys could she have done that to just that week alone.  Three weeks later the diarrhea is still happening and my tongue still has a whitish film on it.  Can my extreme anxiety prolong these symptoms.  I just got tested for HIV and other std's today and am anxiously awaiting the results.  My doctor said that the lab probably uses a western blot test.  How accurate can this or any other tests be after about three and a half weeks? I am also experiencing slight testicle pain from time to time.  Any advice is extremely appreciated.

No one said it was hard to catch HIV, It's just that receiving oral sex has never been a proven way to catch it. In africa there are may reasons whay it has taken over. None cercomcition, dry sex ex... At leat that is what I have read? I understand what you mean though..

If you caught HIV from reciving oral sex then you are the first documented case in over

100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.00 Blow jobs that have been given since HIV has been around.

Very unlikley!

I don't know if I believe these constant claims that HIV is so hard to catch. You don't get a quarter of the population in many African countries having Aids with a virus which is almost impossible to catch.

See multiple other threads vis search terms "HIV transmission risk", "oral sex", and "fellatio".  Receiving oral sex is zero risk or close to it (debate among the experts whether truly zero or not), even if the stripper had HIV--which is unlikely.

Also search the forum for other information about the fact that symptoms never are a reliable indicator that someone has a new HIV infection; only testing counts (search for "ARS symptoms" and "HIV symptoms").  Anxiety alone is not the sole cause of your symptoms, but undboutedly it is contributing.

You did not need any STD/HIV testing on account of the exposure you desdribe.  But an HIV test at 3.5 weeks is highly reliable in any case.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
