Oral sex with a condomn

Hi experts,

I am 22 years old. I came to a private lap-dance place in Portland, Oregon and had an oral sex with a condom by a girl. The girl looks pretty young and clean. The condom was not damaged and stayed intact afterwards. The whole process lasted for around 5 mins and we both used hand sanitizer before touching each other. After the oral sex, I took a shower in like 30 mins.

The thing happened on June 18, 2014 and I did not discover any obvious symptoms (like fever, allergy, and etc) and other particular uncomfortable symptoms until June 23,2014.

Do you think I am possible to be infected by HIV and other STIs? Do you think I need a HIV test? If I need, when do you suggest me to take the test?

Thanks very much for your time!! I am so worried.  I appreciate your help a lot!!

Welcome to our Forum.  Many of our clients ask for our opinions following exposures that, in retrospect, they wish they had not taken part in.  I hope that the comments I am about to make will help you to move forward from your exposure without concern.  First, let me tell you than most people do not have STIs, including HIV and even when they do, most unprotected exposures do not lead to infection. In addition, with reference to your specific situation,. condom protected sex is safe sex and as long as a condom is used throughout the sexual encounter, there is no risk for infection at all.  Further, let me assure you that your condom did not fail. When condoms fail, they break wide open leaving no doubt that they have broken.

This you can go forward with no concern at all that the event you describe was safe sex and that there is no risk at all for STI of any sort.  You do not need testing and there is no need to abstain from sex with future partners.  EWH

Thank you so much Professor Hook! Now I feel better. But please forgive me for a final question. If you were me, will you be concerned about the situation of being infected? Will you go to testing?
Also, may I regard the risk of my situation as zero, if as I said, the condom was intact for sure?

Thank you so much!!!!! Appreciate it a lot!!

Sincerely

Correct, with the condom intact there is almost no chance of infection.  Testing is probably not necessary in such a case. EWH

Thank you very much for the answer!! I have heard that the rate of STI inflections through oral sex is really low. If the condom was intact, there should not be an infection, even though the girl's mouth has wounds. Am I right? The only thing I worried is that how low the chance is to make me infected? Don't I really need to consider testing at all? Don't I really worry about getting infected at all?

Thank you very much!!!

Sincerely
