Risk

First I would like to thankyou for your time.  My situation is this. I met with a African/American CSW, She put the condom on and performed oral on me then we had intercourse (same condom).  When I finished i withdrew and the condom had slid away from the base approx 1 inch and was loose not tight at the tip of the penis but looked intact. The CSW removed it.  I met with my Dr. and took an antibody test at 6 weeks3 days, NEG. I am having extreme anxiety over this, but not to the point of having symptoms.. 1- Was there a risk  2- Do I need to retest after 12 wks. Ive read Dr. HHH to have said 6weeks is reliable. Thankyou for your time, Respectfully, C

Dr EWH, Thankyou very much. You are doing great work. With your evaluation of my exposure or (lack of )and my neg test, I guess its time to get back to my life and put this in the past. So you do agree with a 6 week neg. Thanks again

When you say STD rates maybe higher among AA CSW.  Do you mean STD in general or HIV.

Welcome to the Forum. I note that you also posted a similar question on the HIV Prevention Community.  I agree with the statement that Teak has provided, there is no risk to you of HIV from this exposure.

To elaborate, although STD rates may be slightly higher among AA CSWs than the general population, HIV is still rare.  Thus it is unlikely that your partner had HIV.  If she did, condom protected safe sex is virtually no risk.  This is true even is some of your partner's genital secretions got on your skin because the condom slipped partially down.  Finally, your test at six weeks, in this situation, further proves that you did not get HIV from the encounter you describe.

You need not worry about HIV.  Be confident that you do not have it.  You do no t need additional testing.  Take care.  EWH
