Should I get test?

Dear Dr.
I had a business trip to north china, around 12/15 and 12/16,  my friends invited me to singing club, and drinking with SW. there is no much described here, I just touched a few girl's nipple, and I do have a pretty deep wound on my left hand, but no bleeding, one of girls touched my cut. a few kiss(not french one).  just drink too much, probable shared beer cup
on the 12/16 we also went to a massage place, I was naked, the girl is dressed, she massaged my back and leg. she also laid down on my body when I face up for a few minutes, I touched her nipple for a few time, and finally she offered me a hand job, I am not sure that she has cut on her hand, but I don't think she is bleeding, I generally have some sores  my back, and a little sore on my penis.
after 5 days later (12/21), I fly to south china, I started to have pretty bad fever (101F---102F) with joint pain, runny nose, pretty bad cough, nose congestion, and one big rush on my right shoulder (red patch with a little pump).  fever last about 5 days. rash last about 3 days (but recurring 2 days later, last another 1 days, then disappeared), runny nose disappeared 12 days. I am still cough now

On the Jan 15th (4 weeks after incidence), I had sore throat which last about a week, and a little fever (99F,). mild runny nose, mild rush on my belly.recovered about a week( my two kids have same symbols, they all recovered about a few days, doctor say, that is cold virus)
I am a little bit axious, .but not too much, since there is no unprotected intercourse.
1. Is there risk for me to get hiv infection?
2. are my symbols typical ARS? I know runny nose is not a symbol, but when I search online, it is a little bit confusion for me,  does fever with runny nose (won't consider as hiv symbols) or regardless runny nose, fever will be consider as symbol.
3. how close my symbol to ARS symbol. can two cold or flu happened twice within a month?
4. should I get a test?
Thanks

You are missing the main point:  You had an exposure that could not have infected you with HIV, even if your partner had it.  Your symptoms are pretty much irrelevant.

Thanks Dr. HHH for your quick response, I will take what your suggestion and move on without test,  indeed I don't think there is risk, just want to listen some experts comments and advice.

Just make it clear to benefit others in the forums, regarding ARS symptoms, there are lots of confusion topics on the web.  after researched many comments that you and Dr. Edward made here.

please comment on my statement, I will appreciate it

1. Fever (above 100.4 is most common symptoms among ARS symptoms)? no fever indicate that most likely not  ARS?

2. Fever with other flu like symptoms (nasal congestion or runny nose) most likely indicate something else, other than ARS.

3. ARS will happened between 10--14 days after exposure in most common cases (do you know what is percentage?) . if ARS symptoms come before 10 days, like my case. around 5 or 6 days won't be consider as ARS symptoms... is that correct?

I won't have further questions if all statements are correct :)

Welcome to the forum.

You had accurate replies on the communit forum.  Sexual transmission of HIV requires insertion of a bare penis (no condom) inside another person's vagina, rectum or (maybe rarely) mouth.  There was no risk from the exposure you describe, and your symptoms don't suggest HIV.  Among other things, ARS doesn't cause nasal congestion or runny nose.  You are correct that fever can indicate ARS, but the vast majority of fevers have other causes, even in people at high risk for HIV.  To your specific questions:

1) No risk.

2,3) I think you mean symptom, not symbol.  As noted above, your symptoms do not suggest ARS.  Certainly it is possible to get colds or influenza twice in a month.

4) Based on your risk level and symptoms, no HIV testing is necessary.  Of course you are free to get tested if you need additional reassurance from a negative test result.  If I were in your situation, I would not be tested and I would continue unprotected sex with my wife without fear of giving her HIV.

I hope these comments are helpful.  Regards--  HHH, MD
