Welcome to the Forum. I'll provide the information by letter you first know about how common HIV is in adult video actresses or commercial sex workers, then the risk of HIV associated with specific sex acts. Here goes-
VERY few adult film actresses. The industry standard is for these actresses to be tested for all STDs, including HIV on a regular basis.
Similarly, few commercial sex workers have HIV. The HIV prevalence among commercial sex workers varies from location to location and depends in large part on what other risk factors for HIV they might have/
The estimated risks for letting HIV following unprotected exposure to an infected sex partner are:
Penile-vaginal sex - 1 infection per 1000 sex acts
Receptive rectal sex - i infection per 100 sex acts
Insertive rectal sex - 1 infection per 200 sex acts
I hope these comments are helpful and address your questions. EWH
After sex with a new partner, getting tested for all STDs, and particualrly chlamydia, is always a good idea since any of these can be asymptomatic. If you have not had symptoms, it is unlikely that you are infected but as I said, testing is a good idea. Statistically, I suspect your risk of getting any STD including HIV from an adult film star is probably lower than your risk if you were to meet a new partner at a local bar. EWH
Sorry I wasn't clear. It was an adult movie actress of unknown HIV/STD status. Thanks!
Thank you for your prompt response. So assuming the numbers become more favorable for "unknown status" and setting aside any need for "peace of mind", is testing advisable? It has been a month since the encounter with no symptoms to speak of.
By the way, I have been following this forum for some time and I admire your dedication to this work!

Not sure of your question. Did you have an encounter with a adult movie actress, a commercial sex worker or a new partner of unknown status? EWH
