Hello,
I would appreciate your help in assessing my risks of contracting HIV or anything else based on the below.
Interactions:
11.5 weeks ago I met a bondage mistress. I had a dildo inserted in my mouth with a condom used, fingers (using gloves) into my anus, and a dildo into my anus ( I believe a condom was used but am not certain). I had been in the room for at least 15 minutes before these happened, during which they weren't used on anyone else.
8 weeks after this event, I kissed a stripper on the bottom. (I realise this is not a HIV risk, but may be relevant for the symptoms discussed below).
Results:
I tested negative for a hiv ("ab/ag test": I assume this means 4th gen?) at 5 weeks, 6 weeks and at 10.5 weeks after the initial interaction discussed above.
Symptoms:
At the time I met the stripper (8 weeks after initial exposure) I was beginning to develop standard cold symptoms - sneezing, runny nose, blocked up etc. I am based in Australia, so admittedly we are entering cold season.
A week later this progressed into a cough. 2 or 3 days later this became a very sore throat, more severe than I have experienced before. I lost my voice too.
I went to the doctor and was put on antibiotics (roximythoroxin) at the end of week ten. They also noted ulcerations in the back of my throat at that point. I still had a very harsh cough. Within a day or two of starting the antibiotics I had a white tongue, with the sore throat continuing. I am now a week and a half past this point (11.5 weeks). the sore throat has moderated, white tongue still there.
So do you see any remaining remaining risk here?.
Does this sound like one of those very rare times I have read about that a 10 or even 12 week test may not be accurate, given the possible seroconversion symptoms didn't kick in until about 8 weeks. At the time of the test at 10.5 weeks, it was 3 weeks since the cold symptoms started, 8-9days since the sore throat and 4d since thrush.
Thank you
