Re-read my reply above. Is there some way I could have been more clear than "I see no need for HIV testing"???
I have little to add to Dr. Hook's reply to your question a week ago. He told you that you have nothing to worry about with respect to HIV, and I agree.
You don't say where you live or where you might have traveled, but typhoid fever is rare in industrialized countries. If you live in a developing country, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, then there might be some risk of HIV despite your limited sexual experience. However, it seems likely that you have a serious misunderstanding about HIV risks through heterosexual exposure. Finally, as Dr. Hook already told you, your symptoms are NOT typical of ARS, and could easily be due to your typhoid or the antibiotics you were taking.
Please talk to your own health care provider if you remain concerned. I see no need for HIV testing, but the decision is up to you and your doctor. This forum has nothing more to offer you.
